Progressive lenses combine distance, computer, and reading vision in one seamless lens. When they are designed and fitted properly, moving between those distances should feel natural.
More natural vision. Modern lens designs provide smoother transitions between distances with less unwanted blur and distortion.
Easier to adapt to. Better lens technology makes progressives feel more natural in everyday life, which is why difficulty adapting to ours is uncommon.
Tried progressives before? A bad experience with progressives usually comes down to the lens design, the measurements, or the fit. With modern lenses and precise digital measurements, progressives feel dramatically more natural.

Can I come in just for glasses?
Absolutely. Whether you already have a prescription and are ready to shop, or you want us to help from start to finish with an exam and glasses, we’re happy to help however you need us.
Do I need an appointment to shop for glasses?
No, an appointment is not required. You’re always welcome to walk in.
That said, we love giving our patients the dedicated attention they deserve. Booking a complimentary optical appointment helps us make sure an optician is ready for you, focused on you, and able to guide you through the collection without rushing.
Do you have frames that are good for sensitive skin?
Many of our frames are selected with skin comfort in mind, including options with hypoallergenic materials and comfortable nose pads. If you’ve had irritation from glasses in the past, let us know. We can help guide you toward frames that are less likely to bother your skin.
Can your frames be made into sunglasses?
Yes. All of our frames can be made into prescription sunglasses. We also carry non-prescription sunglasses if you already see well without correction or wear contact lenses.
What types of frames do you carry?
We carefully curate both the frame brands we carry and the individual pieces within each line. Some frames are subtle and easy. Some are bold and expressive. Some are built for comfort, some for presence, and some for a little of both. Every frame in our optical has a purpose, and every frame is chosen because it can look excellent on the right person.
How do I know which frame brand is right for me?
You don’t have to know before you come in, that’s our job. Our optical team will help narrow the collection based on your face shape, prescription, style, comfort needs, and how you actually use your glasses.
Do all your offices carry the same frames?
Not exactly. Both our Herndon and our Oakton offices carry frames we know patients love, but we hand-select each frame for each optical. You’ll find overlap between our locations, but there will be differences.
Who are progressives best suited for?
Progressives are ideal for adults who need help seeing up close while still needing clear distance and computer vision. They provide the full range of vision in one pair, so you don’t have to switch between different glasses.
I’m struggling with my up-close vision, what are my options?
Progressives tend to work best since it’s an all-in-one solution. Bifocals can work but don’t provide good vision at computers and have a line down the middle. You can switch off between your distance and near glasses, though this tends to be the most cumbersome solution. We also have contact lens solutions that can correct your distance and near vision at the same time.
I’ve tried progressives before and could never get used to them. How can you help?
We look at the factors that commonly cause progressive problems: the prescription, lens design, frame choice, measurements, and fit. We then use modern progressive technology, take digital measurements in your actual frame, and carefully adjust the finished glasses so the lenses sit exactly where they should.
Do you accept vision insurance for lenses?
Yes. We accept most vision plans for prescription lenses. Coverage depends on your specific benefits, lens choices, and any upgrades you select. Our team can help review your expected coverage before you order.
Are premium lenses worth it?
Yes. Quality lenses are valuable because they can help you see more clearly, feel more comfortable, and make your glasses easier to live in.
But great lenses are not about adding every possible upgrade. They’re about choosing the enhancements that make a real difference for your eyes, your prescription, and your lifestyle.

How long will my glasses take to be ready?
Most glasses are ready within 2 to 3 weeks.
Once your order is placed, we send your prescription, measurements, lens design, and frame details to the lab. Each pair is made for your specific prescription, your selected frame, and the way the lenses need to sit in front of your eyes.
When your glasses arrive, we verify them carefully before letting you know they are ready for pickup. We always want your glasses back as soon as possible, but we care just as much about making sure they are made correctly.
